Our Little Girl

Well Dannika has been growing so fast! She has become a little girl! I'm sad she isn't a baby anymore but I am excited to see her grow and learn new things. She has been picking up a few words here and there. Last weekend we went to the zoo. She had been in November and she loved it. This time she was really afraid of everything. On the train Jeremy and I were both holding her at the same time. The elephants were scary, etc. She had more fun pointing to the random birds flying around. She did enjoy the petting zoo. I gues she thought the goats were just big, weird-looking dogs. :)

Wow-I haven't updated since D was a year old! She is now 17 months! We are busy learning new words. She says "nite nite, dog, mama, baby, bye bye, uh oh, sock, and of course, NO." :)

Happy Birthday to my little pooky!

So, today is Dannika's first birthday. I can hardly believe that it's already here!! She is growing so fast. Jeremy and I got her a shopping cart for her birthday and of course we gave it to her early. She loves it! She isn't walking yet but she does walk while pushing the cart, and she giggles hysterically!!! Here are some pics of her with her shopping cart and from this morning. :)

The Straw

So, Dannika, Jeremy, and I were at Wal-Mart a few days ago and she was chewing on my straw from my fountain soda. Well she accidentally sucked on it and once she figured out that's how she can get the drink out, she wouldn't give it up. I managed to wrangle it away from her, so now her favorite way to drink. I bought her a couple of cups with straws and she is going to town. We are down to just a few ounces of formula left, and have been giving her some milk...so the formula will probably be all gone in a week and we're not buying anymore. At daycare she is eating what all the "big kids" eat and at home she is, too. We are trying to use up some of our Step 3 babyfood but we still feed her some of what we are eating.

I just can't believe her birthday is just around the corner. I'm kind of nervous to be hosting such a big deal! I dearly hope I can enjoy her on that day so I'm trying to make it somewhat low key. It's already becoming a big event but I can't help it! We are really excited.

Kentucky and Jerry's Birthday

Well it's been awhile! We just returned from our trip to Kentucky Lake. The Grither side (Jeremy's mom) had their family reunion there. We went to the pool and took lots of naps. We went shopping at a couple of antique stores, and just relaxed alot. It was great.

Dannika practiced her walking and balance skills and she is now walking along objects while holding on. On Thursay (July 16th) she said "uh-oh" after we were saying it when she dropped something. Now she says it when you ask her to, if she feels like it. She is so inependent. She wants to go everywhere until she is tired. Then she looks up at you an holds her arms up. I think that means she is tired of her workout and needs to be carried. :)

The Float Trip

Well it was an eventful weekend to say the least! Jeremy and I went on a float trip with our friends Sarah and Drew, and I think the heat got to me. I was sick, sick, sick for the last hour down the river. The heat index was 108 and the water was so cold it was tough staying in long enough to cool off. Dannika stayed with Grammie and Grampy Flagg. She is crawling all over the place. She showed them her new skills and I'm sure they got a work out. This weekend is 4th of July so I'm eager to see if Dannika likes fireworks. The neighbors have been shooting them off all week and she hasn't seemed to notice them. We will see!

Dannika is Crawling!

Well, Dannika is "officially" crawling. She was scooting around while we were in KC in the beginning of June, but now she is up on her knees and getting around nicely. She loves to chase the dogs, which isn't really fun for them. Usually they just run away from her. Lately she has been very interested in Sully's kennel. She has fun opening and shutting the door and she has even gotten in there!
